I Get Carried Away

I get carried away by the look by the light in your eyes. So today was eventful.  Although I didn't accomplish my goal, we did get the whole downstairs spotless. It took three trash bags and almost two rolls of paper towels. Kirsten and I tried to wait up for Haleigh last night, but we both passed out right before she got home. Kirsten woke up when she came in, but I was dead asleep. I woke up today around noon and felt like I had been hit by a car I was asleep so hard. We all started cleaning when we got up. Everyone who was home actually helped. Haleigh, Kirsten, and I went to pick up our first pay checks today. 90 bucks isn't too bad for only working like two days. Haleigh had a hot date tonight, so Kirsten and I decided we would go on our own date. We went to PJ's, or maybe it's PB's. I don't really know, but it was pretty good. I hadn't had a good hamburger since I've been out here, so that is what I had! We decided we didn't want to be that big of losers and go home at seven, so we went back to the mall. Congratulations Kelsey and Kirsten, we wasted an hour and a half..losers. Nine on a Friday, and I'm blogging! Dub tee eff. While we were in Victoria's Secret tonight, some girl came up behind me and waved one of the scent testers in my face and made some really creepy seductive noise. After I turned around she stared at me for a good five seconds before starting to frantically apologize for mistaking me for her friend. I saw her friend...I'm offended. Kirsten informed me that one of our roommates packed garlic in her suitcase when she moved down here. For some reason that really made me laugh. Considering this girl uses crap tons of garlic for everything she cooks, it does not surprise me. I get carried away, nothin' matters but bein' with you, like a feather flyin' high up in the sky on a windy day, I get carried away.

Bullet Hole

Yes, there is a bullet hole in my living room window, but no worries, someone covered it with tape..scotch tape. And the other day Kirsten swore she heard a gun shot, but I'm still determined that it was just Zach shooting his potato cannon across the street. I just ate a fiber one bar for the first time..me gusta! Anyways, the past few days have been really weird. I have had a lot of mixed emotions. I'm trying really hard to stay positive, and remember that Heavenly Father knows what's best for me and already has a plan in store for me. Yesterday I literally did nothing except go to IT class. I skipped my religion class to go to the mall to see Brian Martin. Woo! :) It was quite a short visit, but I hadn't seen him in forever. When we got home, we went over to Zach's for movie hunting. We decided to watch Taken. That movie makes me sick every time, because things like that really happen all of the time. My Pandora country station is my new best friend. Pretty sure my roommates don't appreciate it. Oh I also got to Skype with Kelsey and Lindsay yesterday. It was only a short while, but I miss them! Today was a typical Thursday. I feel so lucky to have the president of the school as one of my teachers. He's an awesome teacher and I love that class. I also really enjoy my English class. Especially our discussions. We read a passage called "Why We Crave Horror Films" it was quite interesting. Apparently because we're all insane and watching scary movies is a semi normal person's way of letting out that insanity. I love scary movies...hmm. Hahah. My goal for tomorrow is to clean my room. I have absolutely nothing else to do, so no excuses! I remember the good old days when I was super uptight and there was nothing out of place in my bedroom..HA! I would just like to say that Kirsten and I finding a centipede in the house=really loud screaming. Ew. I hope all the crazed Harry Potter fans enjoyed themselves tonight, LAME.   I used to have an excuse to make fun of people like that, but I suppose I can't anymore since I feel the same way about Twilight. At least the guys in twilight are good looking. Plus vampires and werewolves are so much cooler than magic..come on!

I Love The Office

So there are so many quotes that I just love. I always want to be one of those people who updates their status on facebook like every five minutes, but instead of telling everyone my life story in my statuses I just want to put different quotes. So this is my solution..I'm going to just put a bunch of quotes that I love in this here post.

“In all of living, have much fun and laughter. Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.” Gordon B. Hinckley

"We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us."

"The weak cannot forgive, forgiveness is the attribute of the strong." Gandhi

"We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love."

"Happy moments, praise God. Difficult moments, seek God. Quiet moments, worship God. Painful moments, trust God. Every moment, thank God."

"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."  Marilyn Monroe

"Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring."
Marilyn Monroe

"If life gets too hard to stand, kneel."
Gordon B. Hinckley

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass; it's about learning to dance in the rain."

"If we do not feel like it [praying] we should pray until we do." Brigham Young

"Two people can accomplish anything, as long as one of them is the Lord."

"If ye love me, keep my commandments." John 14:15

"If you do your best, it will all work out. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. " Gordon B. Hinckley

"I hope you will simply do what you can do in the best way you know. If you do so, you will witness miracles come to pass." Gordon B. Hinckley

"Learning enlightens the mind, swells the heart, and expands the soul."

“Seeing people change isn’t what hurts. What hurts is remember who they used to be.”

“We don’t have to be perfect, we just have to be on our way to it.”

“Dance as though no one is watching you. Love as though you have never been hurt before. Sing as though no one can hear you. Live as though heaven is on earth.”

I wish I could do ballet until my legs fell off.
"No one realizes the beauty of love, until you're caught in it."

Today was a much better day than yesterday. I got to sleep in until noon, I didn't have to go to class until five, and I had no homework. I got out of English early so I decided to work on some stuff for nutrition. For the first time this semester my nutrition class was pretty fun. We played some lame guessing vitamins and minerals game, and I won! I got bonus points. :) I got Wendy's after class, that basically made my day complete. It had been too long. I hope I can go grocery shopping tomorrow, I'm craving fruit! Oh wait, I have canned fruit. Oh...wait...I don't have a can opener. Rats. I love watching The Office with my roommate.

Yellow Means Slow Down

My theory was confirmed this evening, Utah drivers are the worst. Now granted, this could have happened to anyone, anywhere, but the drivers in Utah are ridiculous, so I'm going to blame this one on the fact that they all suck. I was walking to a work meeting tonight with Kirsten and Haleigh. When we got to the cross walk we waited until the light turned yellow, then figured it was safe to walk considering you are supposed to slow down and prepare to stop when the light turns yellow, but someone going at least 50 miles per hour decided they were going to try and make the light. I think it's safe to say, I saw my life flash before my eyes. The car was literally five feet from hitting me. She didn't honk, slow down, or anything. Kirsten was freaking out by the time she got to the other side of the road and Haleigh was laughing hysterically. I don't think Haleigh understood the gravity of the situation. I ALMOST died. Oh and to make matters worse, it's rainy and freezing outside. The meeting was..a blast. We talked about all the fun stuff like making sure people don't steal, making sure people don't get hurt on the wet floors, and dress code. I tried to take days off in December for Christmas after the meeting, but all of the days I would want off are basically full. Plus there is a girl named "Kelsey O" who writes her "O's" creepily similar to the way I write my "D's." So I took the initiative and basically just wrote Kelsey Davis on top of everyone else's names. :) Anyways, Corbin saved us from having to walk home. I mean what are the chances of almost getting hit by a car twice in one day when I had managed to go 18 years without doing so? Probably slim, but you never know. Go back to drivers ed. Utah! So I have to work tomorrow morning at 10, which is fine..moneymoneymoney! Minus the fact that the big shots from forever 21's corporate will be there. Dressed as typical shoppers. So I will never know when I run into them. Which means I have to be overly, disgustingly, friendly to everyone that comes in tomorrow. But I also have to look extra forever 21-ish. I'm so excited..we just have school this week, then I have all next week off. Wait..I'm not excited considering I get to spend Thanksgiving with my roommates. I mean I love my roommates and all, but spending one of my favorites holidays with them isn't exactly ideal. And Corbean will be gone all week...lame. I'm going to try really hard to get some sleep tonight since I have to get up so early tomorrow, which means I should probably stop drinking so much Dr. Pepper. "If life gets too hard to stand, kneel." -Gordon B. Hinckley

I miss and love this man.

No Regrets, Just Love

Just a Dream, I still love you, Nelly..not as much as I used to when I would rock out to it's gettin' hot in herrrr. Anyways, I feel like I've done a lot in the past couple of days, but I can't really remember it. The other day, my roommates and I ran over a shirt with Ali's van. Apparently it was really mean and immature, but it was funny at the time. Yesterday, I worked my butt off. I was suppose to be working the dressing rooms, which means giving people rooms and sorting, as well as running for a section of the store. The dressing rooms were full the whole four hours I was at work and I was the only one in the fitting room. Needless to say, it was hectic. But every once in awhile I got to see Kirsten when she would come to the dressing rooms to get take backs. There was a Russian kid working the front of the store, but I don't think he was doing much of anything considering he kept coming back to the dressing rooms to laugh at me frantically running around everywhere. We finally found out why our shower was clogging. Apparently someone who previously lived here decided it would be funny/mean/cool? to put nails down the shower drain. Dub tee eff. I swear people are so weird. Haleigh has somewhat of a hot date today. Some kid from one of her classes is coming over and they're going to have a Harry Potter-athon. And somehow, against my own free will, I got coaxed into participating in these shenanigans. I've only seen like the first three movies, so I guess this could be a good thing? Corbin thinks he can just walk into my house, without knocking, with Arby's, but none for me! Who does he think he is.

I miss my brothers, Ohio, summertime, my house, etc. Just saying. :)

The Shining

My New Testament class was boring, as expected. Then I came home to naked roommates. Literally. Haleigh and Kirsten were on the couch mostly naked, watching Harry Potter musical or some stupid crap like that. Oh and they had the blinds wide open hoping that the "hot" pizza guy would see them on the couch..naked. We then proceeded to watch The Shining. That movie probably has the creepiest people ever in it. It started out pretty slow and was somewhat predictable. I was really confused by the old moldy lady in the bathtub and the guy in the bear costume. It might be awhile before I feel comfortable staying in a hotel again, or at least a hotel in room 237..REDRUM. I'm a little upset that we never made cookies. Although I did have popcorn and nutella. Oh and I wonder why I'm getting fat. Ha. Kirsten is currently wearing a pea coat over her underwear and bra. She cracks me up. No afternoon class tomorrow=sleeping my little life away. I should really start getting more sleep at night, not in the afternoons. I think it's weird that at home, I used to take like a three hour nap everyday after school and still went to sleep at a decent time every night. Here, I almost never nap, but I can just somehow stand to party all night, every night (not literally Robyn). I just don't understand people sometimes. I'm having a really hard time trusting what certain people are telling me right now. Frustration to the maximum level. "Let your hearts be comforted concerning Zion; for all flesh is in mine hands; be still and know that I am God." Doctrine and Covenants 101:16 <3 I seriously love that scripture. I try to read it everyday to remind myself, "it will all work out!" I have officially gone two weeks without cracking my fingers. I didn't think I'd ever break that horrible habit. Sleepsleepsleep. :)

First Day of Work

So I would just like to start by saying I still hate IT 102, hence the reason I'm blogging during this class. Today was my first real day at work. When I got there one of the girls who has worked there for awhile showed me around downstairs then they told me I'd be working in the fitting room. At first it was really boring because it was 10:30 A.M., and no one starts shopping that early. But then it got pretty intense. Especially when this one lady asked me to help her zip up her dress and she had super hairy armpits. Not only that, but the dress was NOT going to fit. Anyways, everyone I work with is really nice! Kirsten, Haleigh, and I are going to watch The Shining tonight, and make cookies. No matter how "stupid" Kirsten's dad says it is. Oh! Our devotional at school yesterday was given by John Bytheway. He's way awesome! I didn't get to even shake his hand afterward because he had to be at BYU right after, yet somehow one of my friends managed to get a picture with him. It's official..boys are so stupid. I hate them all. I really don't want to go to my religion class tonight. I love the New Testament and all, but an hour and a half straight of reading it doesn't exactly float my boat. Bad news bears...I have a freakin' hole in my freakin' pea coat. Dub tee efffff. Not okay.
