Happiness Depends upon Ourselves

I haven't posted a blog since I've been back in Utah, and I have this awesome internal alarm clock that doesn't let me sleep in, so I thought now would be a good time to post something! So when I got back from Ohio, I started dating this pretty cute boy named Seth. Seth and I have been friends for sometime now, since he's Ali's brother. This past weekend Ali and Seth decided they wanted to take a trip home to Vegas. Well Ali and I had been planning on going for a couple months, so I figured I would tag along. We rode down there with Andrew (Seth's roommate) and another guy that none of us knew. We left here at around 12 Friday night/Saturday morning. I only slept about an hour on the way there, but we got there in just a little over five hours. Ali and I attempted to go back to sleep when we got to her grandparent's house, but that just didn't work out. Saturday afternoon we kind of just hung out before their family get-together. I enjoyed getting to meet a lot of their family. They made me feel welcome, and they had great food! Saturday night we went down to the Strip. We just walked up and down and watched the water show a couple of times, but it was a Saturday night plus Memorial Day weekend, so it was pretty crowded. The experience was neat! Sunday we went to church in Ali and Seth's home ward. It was nice to go to a family ward. After church we went to their older sister's house to visit. Their mom made her famous chicken pot pie for dinner. It was way good! We played Apples to Apples...I never get sick of that game! Sunday night kind of made me a very happy girl. :) But that might be a story for another day. I will just say that Seth is the cutest boy ever. Sunday night Ali and I wanted to do our usual Denny's run,which turned out to be a major fail. Our waiter forgot to put our order in so we ended up being there way longer then we wanted to. We left early Monday morning, and I slept most of the way home. It was a very fun trip and Seth and Ali have an amazing family! "Remember to laugh when life give you a moment to breath, and smile when it takes your breath away." -A very wise man

I Want a Kitten

Once upon a time, I could not stand cats. In fact, I wasn't to fond of animals in general. But there was something about cats especially that I really didn't like. Not to mention, they made me sneeze like crazy. Last summer, I was a nanny for a family that had two cats. One was a long haired cat and the other, short haired. Scooter was the long haired one. He was really cute, so I started to warm up to him. I noticed after awhile that I could pet Scooter and he didn't make me sneeze at all, but if I even looked in the general direction of the other cat, I would start sneezing (doesn't make sense to me either). When I moved out to Utah and started talking to Kyle, he told me he had a cat. Well he told me it wasn't his cat, but he was "cat sitting" for a few months. I gave Shelby a chance because she reminded me of Scooter. "Kyle's" cat, Shelby, is the best cat in the world. I'm completely in love with her.

Cutest cat in the world! So the reason I want a kitten now is because Shelby's real owners are taking her back soon. :( But thanks to her, I have a serious obsession with cats now. I even kind of want this to happen when I can have my own kitty:

Airport Adventures

Yesterday was quite an eventful day. I was super excited to fly back to Ohio, minus the flying part. I used to think flying was really fun. I loved the take off and looking out the window at the clouds right beside the plane, but after not flying for a few years, I developed a serious fear. I did okay when I flew home for Christmas, but yesterday there were thunderstorms all across the east. The plane ride from Salt Lake to Memphis was fine, until we tried to land. I thought for sure we were going to crash. Once I got inside the airport, they were telling everyone to get inside the nearest bathroom because there was a tornado hitting Memphis at that very moment. Needless to say, I wasn't too worried about missing my flight at this point. After the tornado passed, they made an announcement saying all planes were grounded for at least the next hour. Oh on a side note...when I got off the plane in Memphis, one of the guys working in the airport pointed at my Ohio State sweatshirt and started SCREAMING about how Jim Tressel is a cheater, a liar, etc, etc. Uhm...That guy must really want to get fired or something. Anyway, I didn't want to be stuck in the Memphis airport all night, but then again I also didn't want to take off when the storm was still going on. We boarded at about 8:40, which worried me because there was still lightning all across the sky. The pilot came on and said "We are expecting this to be a pretty bumpy ride, it might be a little smoother about half way through...." The ride never got any smoother. The lady next to me told me she flies pretty often, like once a week often, and she said that flight was the worst she had ever been on. Which kind of gives me hope that I will never experience a flight worse than that. I've never been so happy as I was when we finally landed in Columbus, but once I picked up my suitcase, I realized that during the tornado warning, the lives of those who load luggage onto the plane are probably more important than our luggage and they had left all of our stuff outside. Everything inside of my suitcase was soaked. It was one in the morning, I had been up since 7, and all of my clothes were wet. It's a good thing Kelsey Spahr was there to greet me at the airport :) or I would have lost my mind last night. I was happy to see my mom and Cory too! I'm glad that day is over and I'm happy to be home. It was nice to sleep in my own bed last night.

Pardon Me While I Burst into Flames

Sometimes I just need to rant.
My boyfriend brought me home at 9:54 p.m. and now I have nothing to do...Ergo this post
I want a new job. Working at Forever 21 is fun and all, but I'd like something a little more practical
We have no toilet paper in my house except for the roll I stole from Kyle's house today
I can't stand rude, selfish people who have been coddled by their parents forever
I don't have any juice
I want ice cream
I've now moved to the top bunk and my phone charger doesn't reach that far, so I have to sleep with my laptop
I don't like when people don't respect other people's things. IT'S SO RUDE.

On a happier note! It was 65 degrees today. I was so excited when I walked out of the house in flip flops. I can't wait until 65 is the low instead of the high. Kyle got a kitty cam for Shelby. It's way cool. It records everything from her point of view. The semester is almost over! Today was my last day for both of my Tuesday/Thursday classes. That means I get to go home soon. Oh oh! I'm going to General Conference on Sunday morning. Kyle and I have tickets. I'm stoked.
